What do you think are the main differences between Quinn and Santana? This is more about how you envision them than your actual writing, I suppose. I know they have very different responses to things in their lives, but if we’re looking at their core character, these responses seem to stem from the same values and fears. D’you think their behaviour is the only difference between them, or are they not that similar deep down either? In my head, no one calls Quinn ‘Quinnie’.

Because when she’s 14, and changes her name, (because Lucy cuts too deeply, because it isn’t who she’s trying to turn into, because she wants to keep Lucy separate from everything Quinn could be) Judy can’t stop saying “Lucy” and it cuts Quinn to the bone.

Judy would see when she’d flinch, and would train herself to say “Quinnie” instead because it was the closest thing she could come to the sound of “Lucy” rolling off her tongue for 14 years.
